Kris Bernal is back in the Philippines after a captivating European tour of some of the continent’s most beautiful locations.

One of her most unforgettable moments, however, was meeting her fellow Filipinos in London during a meet and greet organized by GMA’s flagship international channel GMA Pinoy TV and its partner-carrier in the region Lyca TV.

“I’m beyond happy that I was able to share time with my kababayan abroad,” shares Kris. “I felt like I was home, and I hope they felt the same way while I was there with them.”

At a press conference held at the Philip de Vera Salon in Earl’s Court, owned by renowned Filipino stylist and “London’s Finest Hairdresser”, Philip de Vera, the actress was able to meet UK-based Filipinos and learn more about what it’s like living abroad. “I got closer to each one of them after hearing about their experiences while living in London throughout the years,” said Kris.

While in the United Kingdom, Kris also went around the city to see famous landmarks such as the Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, the Wellington Barracks and the London Eye, a giant Ferris wheel along the banks of the River Thames.

The trip was a truly memorable one for Kris, who took time off after playing her compelling role in the recently concluded primetime drama series Little Nanay. “I also met some Filipinos walking along the street. I just have so much appreciation for the city’s sheer beauty, and the rich and diverse culture in London,” she gushed.

After exploring the sights in the city, Kris also paid a courtesy visit to the Philippine Embassy in the UK where she was received by Consul General Senen Mangalile.

Kris is truly grateful to her home network, especially GMA Pinoy TV for the opportunity to touch base with Filipinos abroad. She is especially thankful to her kababayan who displayed the Filipino brand of hospitality, making her feel at home while being so far from the country.

“Team Abroad sa Europe, your hospitability and warmth made me feel comfortable despite the cold weather. Thank you for being such an inspiration! I promise to give my best in my future endeavors, so you can be as proud of me as I am of all of you, who continue to work hard for your family’s future,” she expressed.
