Tambi Wycoco, long considered a consummate volunteer community service leader in the Greater New York area, has announced he is running anew for the Board of Directors of the Philippine Independence Day Council, Inc. (PIDCI) in elections on Saturday, October 5, 2012, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.

The PIDCI elections will take place at the Philippine Center at 556 Fifth Avenue (between 45th and 46th Streets) in Manhattan, New York 10036.

Wycoco has been actively involved in the annual Philippine Independence anniversary celebration since its inception 24 years ago by the erstwhile ad-hoc group Philippine Independence Day Committee (PIDC) that staged and managed it until 2002 when the Philippine Independence Day Council was formally organized and incorporated into PIDCI.

The planning, organization, production, execution and direction of the annual commemoration have been totally taken over since then by PIDCI.

Wycoco has a sterling record of accomplishments, especially in the annual commemoration of Philippine Independence, having served numerous times as Director of Communications and for five years as a duly elected and re-elected member of the Board of Directors of PIDCI.  This year, Wycoco is the Public Relations Officer of PIDCI, totally and solely responsible for media releases.

He also served in the yearly commemoration countless times as chairman of the Commemorative Program (Souvenir Journal) and Street Fair committees where he established record revenues.

Aside from those two committees he had also chaired the Membership committee and the Special Projects committee and co-chaired other committees giving him an all around, hands on management expertise of the celebration.

His career is steeped in what has become his forte concentrated in advertising, media, marketing communications and public relations.

Wycoco’s handlers and supporters have described him as exuding “tested experience and proven performance” in his bid for the PIDCI Board of Directors.
