JERSEY CITY -- In honor of Older Americans Month, Mayor Steven M. Fulop and the Department of Health and Human Services are announcing the Office of Senior Affairs new summer programming, which includes Zumba and Light Fitness classes to complement the City’s already-expanded recreation programming for seniors. With seniors making up almost 15 percent of the city's population, Senior Affairs is also renewing the extremely popular Farmer’s Market food voucher program which provides low-income seniors with certificates to spend on locally-grown fruits and vegetables.

JERSEY CITY -- Citing strong local leadership from Mayor Fulop’s administration, Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services upgraded Jersey City’s credit rating to AA- last week, marking the second credit upgrade since Mayor Fulop took office. In their report, S&P noted “key economic initiatives” by the Fulop administration and “strong management” as critical factors.

NEW YORK CITY - The Health Department today released the latest New York City Community Air Survey results, which found improvements in air quality between 2008 and 2014, marking progress toward Mayor de Blasio’s OneNYC goal of achieving the cleanest air of any large U.S. city by 2030.
