In its drive to position the Philippines as an ideal venue for international events, the Department of Tourism (DOT), will host the 2016 Asia-Pacific Ironman 70.3 Championship in Cebu on August 7, 2016, the first time that the Asia-Pacific leg of the competition will be held in Asia. Previous editions were held in Australia.
